Vacancy - Back-end developer
Function
As a Back-end Developer, you help build the software that supports Frigilunch's operational core . You work on the proprietary application layer surrounding the ERP , write and rewrite modules in PHP and SQL , among others, and develop new functionalities around traceability , quality registration , and margin reporting . You always start from a concrete business question: what data do we need, how do we register it efficiently, and how do we present it back to the user?
You will work closely with the IT manager and a colleague familiar with the processes. You will be given the freedom to contribute ideas, even though the focus in the initial phase is primarily on execution and getting to know the production environment. Expect to walk around the shop floor frequently, react quickly, and receive direct feedback from end users. You are building something that will be used tomorrow, not something that will disappear into a drawer.

You will work on your own application layer that has grown over the past few years and will continue to professionalize in the coming years, with plenty of room to determine your own approach. Frigilunch is known for its long tenure. Those who land here often stay for years. That is no coincidence: the combination of freedom, short lines of communication, and a no-nonsense culture ensures that people find their place here. A company where the phone is still answered and where your colleagues know you by name.
Frigilunch as a company
Frigilunch is a Belgian leader in the production of high-quality frozen meals, with a strong focus on the international retail and catering market. With a robust growth strategy, the company positions itself as an innovative partner that translates flavorful, complex recipes into industrial scalability.
The IT environment reflects that growth. In addition to standard packages such as CSB and SAP Business One, a proprietary layer runs on top: applications for customer management, order intake, quality registration, and margin reporting. This layer is currently being further expanded by a small, hands-on IT team working close to the business. A family business in terms of culture; an organization that has grown significantly in terms of complexity.
